Ramps in this sector fall into two categories. Portable Ramps and modular Ramps.Both are there to assist the transit of Users with Wheelchairs, Scooters and other mobility aids to move easily from one surface level to another, or to move an item into the back of a vehicle or across a pavement kerb. Threshold ramps - these can be used indoors or outdoors, they are made of modular rubber or in one piece and provide easy and smooth access up to a door threshold. They give a rise of 1 or 2 inches in 2 models, each a little over a meter long and between 200mm and 400mm wide. Portable folding ramps - These are suited to providing instant access to buses, trains, buildings, where a permanent ramp is impractical. They are made of lightweight aluminium in 2 styles - 1. The Silver Star portable ramps come in 5 different lengths from 600mm (2') to 1830mm (6') . They are an econo model with flat edges with no edge barrier lip. They allow for easy storage and transportation. 2. The EBL ( Edge barrier) portable ramps are from Decpac. These come in 8 different lengths from 900mm (3') to 3500mm (11'). These have the added security of a lip edge on either side of the ramp. Decpac also offers a multi purpose 870mm folding ramp without edge barrier lips.
